April + James | Married | Smithfield, Virginia

I have been waiting all summer for this wedding!!! April and James are married! I am so excited for them! A few months ago, we got to know these two during their engagement session and they are just one down to earth couple.

Their wedding and reception was at the beautiful Smithfield Center in Historic Downtown Smithfield. One week prior to the wedding, I heard that there was a beautiful sunflower field that was blooming down the street from the venue. I asked April if they wanted to make a trip to the field during our portrait session. They were game! Their wedding colors looked gorgeous with the sunflowers.Oh and let's talk about the weather forecast for a minute. The whole day was calling for rain during the outdoor ceremony time and portrait time. We lucked out! It didn't rain until the end of the reception. It was perfect timing.

The whole day was filled with love and tears of joy. James' dad was the officiant of the ceremony. How sweet is that? When the couple exchanged vows, their son, Cameron started tearing up. It was the sweetest thing witnessing how happy he was watching his parents getting married.

James and April, thank you for letting us be apart of your wedding day. We are so lucky to witness the love you two have for each other.
