Colonial Williamsburg Engagements | Nichole and Owen

A few months ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Nichole at one of my couple's weddings. She works for Truly Yours Bridal in Williamsburg (if you haven't been, you need to go.) She is sweet as pie and I am so glad she chose us to to photograph her wedding next year. For our couples, I do ask that we meet up for a consult just so that I know we are the perfect match for one another. And boy are we. Owen is just as sweet as Nichole. For their engagement session, they wanted to go to Colonial Williamsburg because it's where they had their first date. How romantic is that? The minute I started pushing the shutter button, they were pros in front of the camera and completely head over heels for one

Downtown Norfolk Engagements | Emily and Patrick

A few months back I got the pleasure of having a consult with Emily at this very hip Coffee shop called The Cure. It's nestled in the Freemason District of Downtown Norfolk. It's one of those places that just gives you those fuzzy feelings when you sit and drink your warm latte. So when Emily told me she wanted to do their engagement session in that area, I was stoked. But there is a whole other reason I was happy. They wanted to begin their session at O'Connor's Brewing Co. That is literally my favorite brewery not to mention, the building is pretty cool. When a couple gets to start their session with a few beers, you can't beat that. Emily and Patrick seriously have the cutest love for one

First Landing State Park Engagements | Irene and Michalis

Wow! It' like I have won the jackpot with all of my couples lately. Irene and Michalis make me feel like I have won the double jackpot. I met this wonderful couple months and months ago at the cutest little coffee shop. You may have seen them before on my blog because I shot Irene sister's wedding in May. I can't tell you how happy I am to have gotten to know this family. I get to see them all again in August for their wedding. Irene and Michalis love water and boats, so living in Coastal Virginia, there are a lot of water locations to choose from. I have been dying to shoot an engagement session at First Landing so when I suggested it, there was no hesitation on their part. She saw the pict

Fort Monroe Engagements | April and James

When I had my consultation with April, we couldn't stop talking! I love it when I meet a bride that I instantly connect with so I knew that James had to be the same way! Due to the crazy amount of rain Coastal Virginia has been getting lately, we had to reschedule the session once. I am so glad we did because we were blessed with clear skies and my favorite golden hour! James really wanted to do their session at the beach but you know I had to suggest that we start out at the Fort then move our way to the beach. It worked out perfectly. It's always nice to choose a location that has multiple mini locations within it. Christian and I had such a good time getting to know these two lovebirds. T

Kimberly & John | Married | Virginia Crossings Hotel

Rewind to three weeks ago. I received an email from Kimberly asking us to photograph her wedding. Then came the phone conference and after speaking with her, I realized how down to earth she was. So, of course I said yes to this amazing woman. Fast forward to this past Saturday, the forecast was calling for thunderstorms all day after 2 p.m. When we arrived at the venue, the clouds were rolling in heavy and I knew we had to move quickly. Thank the heavens that Kimberly and John decided to do a first look. We had only 20 minutes to get in their portraits before the ceremony. Right after we came in, the clouds were relentless. During the whole ceremony, it rained like cats and dogs. Kimberly a
